What is the theme?
In a word…monsterfucking. The theme of this project is Sk8 the Infinity characters as monsters or as humans involved with monsters. We are looking for romantic and erotic art and fiction celebrating our sensual and freaky love of monsters through our favorite SK8 characters.Is this an SFW or NSFW Zine?
THIS IS AN NSFW ZINE. All contributors and supporters must be over 18! There will be explicit content featured in the zine.What kinds of media will be included in this project?
We are creating a digital zine featuring short fiction and art! We will also be developing a merch bundle including stickers and postcard prints.
● We are looking for original short fiction written specifically for the OTR Zine
● We are looking for full page art and short comics. Art can be digital or traditional media but must be finished, polished, and original work created for the OTR Zine.
● We are looking for artists to design standalone stickers and sticker sheets for the merch bundle. Page artists can also pitch their work for postcard prints.
● We are also looking for artists to design profile icons, emotes, and backgrounds for the digital merch bundle
● Contributors may apply for any combination of categories
● Content does not need to be explicit but we are looking for a suggestive T rating at minimum and MONSTERS are a mustWhat ships or characters will be included in this project?
● Featured characters include: Reki, Langa, Cherry Blossom, Joe, Adam, Snake, Shadow and Oka. We are open to pitches including other adult characters.
● There are no restrictions on the ships between featured characters listed above, though at least one of them must be some kind of monster.
● This project is intended to showcase our beloved SK8 characters, we will not accept self insert or Y/N pitches. You may create original support characters and please reach out if you have questions.
● We have decided to exclude Miya and Koyomi from the list of featured characters. They can be included in content so long as they are not participants in or witness to the debauchery.What is the expected timeline for this zine?

Writer Application
● Please submit 3 examples of work including a oneshot/standalone story under 3k. The other examples can be excerpted from longer work.
● You can also share links to your AO3 or anywhere else you share original writing
 
Artist Application
● Please submit a general portfolio of your work so we can get a sense of your style. This can be a curated google drive link or your social media account.
● There is no limit on the number of works but please share at least 4 ‘finished’ compositions, like something you would consider selling as a print
 
Merch Designer Application
● Requirements are the same as the artist application but we are looking for an emphasis on character design over full page compositions or comics
● Examples of sticker sheets, acrylic charms, etc would be exceptional!Examples do not need to include SK8 or monster characters but one or both will support your application! Same for M and E content.Writing applicants can ask to be assigned a beta reader and/or volunteer to beta read. We will not be accepting applications for beta readers only. All works will be reviewed by the writing mod for quality and content.We have a zero tolerance policy for generative AI. Do not submit AI generated or otherwise traced or plagiarized work for application or submission, you will be immediately removed from the project.Will content be limited or moderated?
This is an adult zine featuring kinky and potentially ‘problematic’ content and we intend to engage and celebrate that content through the intersection of horror and erotica.We are open to discussing the nuances of taboo and disturbing content but we have decided to exclude most “Major Content Warnings” as defined by AO3.
● That means no underage (Reki, Langa, and DK characters must be aged up), rape/non-con, graphic descriptions of violence. These tags will not be accepted in pitches for this zine
● That said, some amount of violence and possible character death will be accepted as part of the monstrousAll works must include at least one featured SK8 character and at least one monster! You may pitch works inspired by other media properties, but we will not be accepting pitches that retell narratives from existing media or named characters from other media.
● For example, an artwork depicting Zora Langa/Hylean Reki would be acceptable but not Reki/Sidon
● A DnD inspired story about human Joe romancing various monsters or Minotaur Joe romancing various humanoids would be acceptable but not Joe as the player character in Baldur’s Gate 3.What is the process for submitting pitches?
Applications will be reviewed by the mod team and we will invite the selected applicants to submit three unique pitches.
 
Pitches should include the characters and ships, at least some content tags, summary of the proposed scenario, and the type of monster or monsters you intend to depict.
● Writer’s example: Satyr Joe as he appears in the OVA end credits slips away from the party and encounters a water spirit. They engage in a wet and steamy tryst including penetration in a non-human body, breathplay, voyeurism as Ninja Cherry approaches for a bath.
● Artist Example: A full color illustration in the style of a romance novel cover featuring Human Adam partially undressed lovingly caressed by snakelike tentacles. This could include a version to print for the merch bundle and a more lewd version for the zine, in which Adam is fully nude and getting jerked off by the tentacles.
● Merch Example: A set of pinup style cards featuring the DK trio as undead demons. On one side, Cherry, Joe, and Adam appear as flirty and fashionable idols and on the reverse side they show off inhuman features with fangs, claws, and blood spatter.Accepted contributors will be invited to the discord server and can brainstorm or plan collaborations to pitch. Contributors will be encouraged to workshop their pitches with moderators especially to discuss sensitive material.We intend to curate a zine with a variety of characters, monsters and content, so we encourage pitches with some variance in ships and types of monsters.
● For example, if you only want to write Matchablossom, please don’t pitch three different Vampire Matchablossom scenarios. Maybe pitch codependent Vampire Matchablossom, deep sea merperson Cherry/surfer Joe, and Muscle Fairy Joe x Werefox CherryHow will the Moderators communicate with the contributors?
● We will communicate application status via email and contributors will be invited to join the dedicated discord server
● All further communication with contributors for the project including check-ins and progress updates will be through the discord server.Is this a for-profit project?
This is a non-profit project, no contributors or moderators will be financially compensated beyond a free digital copy of the zine.
● Preorder funds will go towards manufacturing the merch bundle and all profits will be donated
● Contributors will vote on the charities they would like to contribute profits towards from a selection of organizations benefiting LGBTQ+ communities and providing sexual health resourcesWhy is this a digital only zine?
● Ensuring the quality of a physically printed zine and shipping it globally is an expensive process subject to delays. Our goal is to create an exceptional collection of fanwork and provide it in an accessible and affordable format.
● Making this a digital only zine will enable us to stay on schedule and keep the supporter cost low in a fluctuating and unpredictable market.
● Printed merch will be produced domestically by a US based Mod and shipped from the United States.Where can I apply?
